I’ve created this page to tell you about how I can help you with your anxiety, phobias, and/or panic attacks.  The techniques I use are gentle, very effective, and work quickly.  If what I’ve written below feels like a good fit for you, send me an email via my contact page and we can set up a time to talk about what your unique needs and goals are and how I might be able to help you. I look forward to helping you relieve your anxiety and return to your natural state of peace and well-being in your life.

My focus: Helping you learn and use these powerful energy psychology techniques most effectively

In my individual work, I will help you apply the ideas and techniques that I talk about on my blog and in my programs to your life and your unique issues. As I mentioned, I am a licensed therapist and I specialize in helping people use powerful energy psychology techniques such EFT and PEP to release their tendencies to experience anxiety, self-doubt, phobias, and/or panic attacks. As part of the process, I can help you to experience your unconditional well-being, feel greater self-love and self-acceptance, and share your unique gifts with the world.

My focus: Helping you feel relief from anxiety, phobias, and panic attacks

I specialize in helping sensitive people release their tendencies to feel intense anxiety as well as relieving specific phobias, panic attacks, and stress. I’m skilled at helping people quickly and gently release fears of flying, public speaking, heights, snakes, spiders, and anything else. I can also help you with social anxiety and painful shyness. I also can help you let go of general anxiety and the tendency to experience anxiety attacks.

Why do we feel anxiety, phobias, and panic attacks?

All anxiety stems from our nervous system being conditioned to respond to certain situations with a biologically-programmed fight or flight response. As we go through life, we learn that we can create some sense of safety and control by responding to certain situations with anxiety and avoidance. Our minds think that if we’re always cautious about these anxiety triggers, we can avoid potential harm. It’s important to be kind to ourselves as we think about our tendencies to feel anxious. Our minds are just trying to help us feel safer in our lives by making us aware of situations which we have learned might be dangerous to us. This tendency to feel protective anxiety is a common experience for people who have sensitive temperaments to begin with.

What about general anxiety and panic attacks?

For people who experience generalized anxiety, the nervous system has learned to respond to many different situations with intense anxiety. Panic attacks are a combination of a sudden, full-blown activation of the biological fight/flight response exacerbated by intense fearful thoughts about what’s happening that then intensify the experience of anxiety. Once the anxiety attack is over, a vicious cycle of fearful thoughts about having another anxiety attack can create intense anxiety and a tendency to avoid situations where these anxiety attacks may occur. This can then create additional phobias including a fear of enclosed spaces or of going outside at all.

Unfortunately, anxiety, phobias, and panic attacks can become so intense that they keep us from living our lives with the freedom, comfort, and well-being that we all want to experience. The feeling of safety that our minds are trying to give us through the anxiety response backfires and we end up feeling unsafe and scared in ways that really don’t serve us. Luckily, there is a simple, gentle solution.

What can we do about anxiety, phobias, and panic attacks?

With EFT and PEP, we are able to quickly and easily interrupt that conditioned response so that those habitual patterns of responding with anxiety are dissolved. By activating these key acupressure points as we gently focus on the anxiety we want to release and the positive feeling we want to experience, we reprogram our nervous systems to remain calm when we experience the situations that used to trigger our anxiety.

What can I expect from my sessions with you?

In one session, we can significantly or completely release your tendency to feel intense anxiety in response to one or more situations that may have troubled you for years. Generally, releasing specific phobias will take one to four sessions, depending on the complexity of the phobia and the related underlying issues.

For more generalized anxiety where you have multiple worries and anxieties, we’ll want to address each one individually which will take more time. The wonderful thing about using these energy psychology techniques is that the calming effect will generalize to other issues that we have not even directly addressed in our work together. You will be reprogramming your nervous system to remain more and more calm and centered in your life in general instead of responding with anxiety.

In dealing with anxiety/panic attacks, we will follow the same process to release the specific triggers that often lead to these attacks in our sessions. Plus, I will teach you specific techniques you will be able to use to short-circuit an anxiety attack when you feel one arising.

My focus: Empowering you by teaching you how to use these techniques on your own whenever you feel anxiety

From our first session, I will teach you each of these powerful energy psychology techniques so that you will be able to use them reliably and effectively in your life whenever you feel anxiety or any other negative emotion as well. Because these techniques are so effective, this will help to ease your anxiety in itself by giving you powerful tools that you know will work whenever you need them. I encourage you to practice these techniques between our sessions to reinforce the gains we’ve made in our sessions and build your skills. This also allows you to bring any questions or difficulties you may be having about using these techniques back to our sessions so I can help you find solutions. As a result, you’ll be able to use these techniques yourself effectively and reliably.

Will I have to focus intensely on the situations and painful past memories that cause me anxiety or other negative emotions?

No, you won’t. I work differently than many other therapists in this way. I find that it is most effective to work on anxiety issues one at a time and in a general way initially. So most of the time, I won’t ask you to go into detail about the things that are triggering your anxiety unless they arise as significant issues in the process of releasing your anxiety in a more general way.

I’ve found that people with anxiety tend to have creative minds that move from one thought to another quickly. This is a gift when it helps us focus on positive experiences and creative or empowering thoughts. However, for people with anxiety, this tendency will often manifest as thinking about one worry after another in succession which can lead to a snowball or even an avalanche of anxiety in response. That’s why I will ask you to choose one issue to address at a time and we’ll gently release that one issue completely before we move on to another. This will help your mind focus and feel calmer in our sessions. You will see that you have the power to relieve your anxiety in one session which will give you faith in these techniques as well as a sense of accomplishment and control in your life in general.

We’ll start with a general description of the trigger to your anxiety and use EFT and PEP to release the conditioned anxiety response quickly and gently. Once your initial anxiety level has decreased and you’re beginning to feel better, we’ll decide together whether it would be beneficial to go into the details of the situations that trigger your anxiety. Often, specific details will arise at this point, which is the way your inner wisdom shows you what you need to focus on to release this issue completely.

If it makes sense to do this, I will guide you through the process of uncovering specific details of the anxiety or phobia and the situations that originally triggered the anxiety response in you. My intention is always to make your sessions with me as gentle and safe-feeling as possible. And with EFT and PEP, it is absolutely possible to do this. As we focus on releasing one issue at a time, I will follow your lead about where we go in our sessions.

My focus: Helping you release mistaken, limiting beliefs so you can freely share your gifts with the world

I also love to help sensitive people get past their mistaken, limiting beliefs that create feelings of self-doubt and anxiety so they can share their beautiful, unique gifts with the world. I can help with issues such as not believing in yourself, feeling like you’re not good enough, feeling self-doubt, anxiety about rejection, or worry about what other people think of you and your work, etc.

Once you release these old mistaken beliefs and limiting patterns, you can feel your unconditional well-being and hear your own inner wisdom guiding you as you follow your heart’s path and share your gifts. I love working with aspiring artists, healers, writers, musicians, dancers, and other creative souls and I can help you get past your limiting beliefs so you can shine your light in the world in your own beautiful way.

My intention: To help you to feel your unconditional well-being and cherish yourself as the beautiful being you are

I am a licensed therapist (LCSW) but I prefer to think of myself as a teacher of unconditional well-being and self-love. I focus on helping people to get past their old patterns of anxiety and self-doubt so they can access the peace, love, and wisdom that is already within them. Because I want to teach you and empower you to be able to effectively use these techniques on your own as well, I encourage the people who work with me to practice the techniques I teach them and do their own work between sessions.

If you can have a daily practice of using these techniques, you will feel wonderful and you’ll be helping your nervous system develop the habit of feeling good as your normal state of being. I’ve also found that regular daily practice of these techniques whenever possible is the most effective way to see real change in your life in the shortest time possible.
